The landscape of blockchain gaming is experiencing rapid growth, with a global market reaching a value of $9.3 billion, while the NFT market has surged to an impressive $27 billion. Despite gaming reigning as the largest entertainment industry worldwide, surpassing even music and film, the adoption of blockchain gaming still requires improvement, and obstacles are encountered in establishing sustainable revenue models. Consequently, only a tiny fraction of players can reap profits, hindered by the complexity of games.
Addressing this challenge, BitBrawl has developed a solution in the form of an easily understandable 2D esports fighting game. This game seamlessly merges Web2 and Web3 gaming elements, providing a skill-based experience. This month's review will explore various aspects, ranging from the founding team and fundraising endeavors to insights into the upcoming beta and game mechanics.
What is BitBrawl
BitBrawl is an online player-versus-player game in which players compete to earn C2E through matches and tournaments. The game is built on Solana and was created by iLogos, the most prominent gaming studio in Europe.
BitBrawl aims to create a fun combat game that caters to every player type, providing competitive and skill-based gameplay. The game also features a sustainable C2E system, with frequent tournaments to ensure fair rewards for players.
The alpha version of the game is now available to play online on both Google Play and the Apple App Store.
Games
BitBrawl currently has one live and playable game for the public and is developing its second game, Kingdoms. Kingdoms is still under development and aims to become a game combining strategy, adventure, and community, offering an unparalleled gaming experience powered by innovative NFTs and cryptocurrency. Learn more about the second game here: https://bitbrawl.gitbook.io/bitbrawl-kingdoms-whitepaper.
Back to the first game – BitBrawl has 10,000 brawlers, which all stem from four different regions, all equipped with various skill sets, leaders, and universes:
- Nedunia
- Ghule Islands
- The Dynasty
- The Underground
The underlying gameplay features two players, each with three lives. Players can join 2v2 or 3v3 matches to play with friends or compete online. The game comes in three different modes:
- Casual Mode: Players can compete 1v1 or 2v2 and earn gold for every win. This can be played for fun.
- Ranked Mode: Players can brawl online, matched by skill level, paying a $BRAWL Token fee for ranked matches. The first ten matches each season are free. Rankings include Iron, Gold, and Platinum, with a Diamond tier for top performers. Winners receive 90% of the fee, while 5% goes to BitBrawl and 5% is burned. Ranked matches contribute to season-end rewards for skilled players.
- Tournament Mode: Weekly, monthly, and yearly tournaments with 32 players will require an entry fee. Winners receive 75% of paid tokens, while the rest goes to prizes and token burns.
NFT Collection
The team sold out its 10,000 NFT collection in 2021 and raised around $2 million. Currently, they are revamping the collection.
Regarding NFT integration in the game, BitBrawl has four rarity tiers in the NFT metadata that affect the rewards players receive per match but do not impact gameplay. Players can also access over 40 partnered NFT projects at no cost. However, if they want to customize their brawler's appearance, they must purchase a BitBrawl NFT. When players enter the game, they link their wallet to modify their brawler's appearance, which is purely cosmetic to maintain a fair playing field. Notable partners include DeGod, y00ts, Azuki, and MAYC.
